I recently had some friends over for dinner and wanted to offer them a fun Halloween themed cocktail. I prefer vodka and tequila and a Pinterest search yielded a plethora of “easy to make Halloween tequila cocktails”. I was drawn to a pin titled The Devil's Margarita by Show Me The Yummy. Looking at the ingredients needed, I had everything on hand and although I was a little nervous to layering liquor and wine, I decided to give it a go! This cocktail was a hit and looks beautiful in the glass. It was easy to make, tasty and looks like I spent a long time making it. It’s a real crowd pleaser.
What you’ll need:
- Tequila Blanco
- Fresh Lime Juice
- Simple Syrup *You can make this at home per ShowMeTheYummy’s blog. I did have some on hand though.
- Red Wine – I used Intrinsic Cabernet Sauvignon. Since you only need a drizzle of red wine and I figured we might want to have a glass after our cocktail I wanted something festive. This bold Cab is one that is usually stocked in my house. For this recipe, any red wine should do the trick.
- Cocktail Shaker
- Spoon
- Shot glass
- Drinking glass
