5 Quick & Easy DIY Thanksgiving Table Settings

We host Thanksgiving at our home almost every year. I enjoy decorating our home and table in a way that’s inviting to our guests and feels like Fall. We have a small space to work with, so I choose simpler tablescapes.

I found this  5 Minute Thanksgiving Centerpiece from a Pinterest search and used it as my inspiration following the steps in the link to create the “base”. I added lights, candles, a simple table runner and canvas table cloth.

Where to buy the extras, I added in;

  • Canvas Drop Cloth - I love using a simple canvas drop cloth for a table cloth. You can purchase canvas drop cloths online or at your local hardware store for about $10.00. To soften the canvas, I bleach and dry it in the wash. Canvas is extremely durable and washes well making it a great table cloth for holiday gatherings.
  • Burlap Table Runner - I purchased this 12x72 inch burlap runner from Amazon for $9.99. Another great option is to use brown butcher paper that can be purchased for under $3.00 at Lowes. Butcher paper also makes for a great table cover too.
  • Battery Operated String Lights – These ball string lights from Target were my favorite home decor purchase last year. I bought them in both the soft warm and white color and I love mixing the strands together. Make sure to purchase battery operated lights so you don’t have to plug them into the wall. These fairy string lights will also do the trick.
  • Speckled Candle Holders – These are very similar to the ones I purchased from Target last year. I use these for every holiday and purchased them in both the soft warm and white colors. I like to put real candles in most of my candle holders. After your candles burn down, check out our blog for the best method to cleaning your candle holders. For flame-less candles, these realistic, timed and battery powered ones are my favorite.
